Huawei Technologies, the Chinese telecommunications equipment maker, is confident of increasing its share of fixed line and mobile infrastructure deals in 2009, even though sector revenue is expected to shrink.

中国电信设备制造商华为科技(Huawei Technologies)对2009年提高自己在固网及移动基础设施交易中的份额充满信心,即便该行业收入预计将出现萎缩。

Xu Wenwei, Huawei’s chief marketing officer, told the Financial Times that the company was targeting deals worth $30bn this year, having secured contracts worth $23bn in 2008.

华为首席营销官徐文伟向英国《金融时报》表示,2008年华为共获得合约230亿美元,今年的目标是获得300亿美元合约。

His comments suggest that Huawei is confident of growing at the expense of some of its rivals, which include Ericsson, Alcatel-Lucent and Nokia Siemens Networks.

他的言论表明,华为有信心从爱立信(Ericsson)、阿尔卡特-朗讯(Alcatel-Lucent)和诺基亚西门子通信(Nokia Siemens Networks)等竞争对手的手中夺取市场份额,以此获得增长。

Alcatel-Lucent and Nokia Siemens Networks are predicting that the telecoms equipment market will decline this year in revenue terms because fixed line and mobile operators will cut their capital spending in the economic downturn.

阿尔卡特-朗讯和诺基亚西门子通信预计,按营业收入计算,今年电信设备市场将出现下滑,因为在经济低迷中,固网及移动运营商将削减资本支出。

However, Mr Xu said: “We remain quite confident of continued and robust growth this year.”

Huawei, which is not a public company, has not published its 2008 accounts. Mr Xu estimated Huawei generated sales of $17.7bn last year, which would represent a 41 per cent increase on 2007.

华为并非上市公司,并未公布2008年业绩。徐文伟估计,去年华为的营业收入为177亿美元,较2007年增长41%。

Huawei’s 2008 sales will differ from the $23bn of contracts it signed because revenue from some of the deals will not be recorded in its accounts for last year.

Huawei’s global market share of deals to supply mobile infrastructure in-creased from 7.2 per cent in 2007 to 15.5 per cent last year, making the company the third largest supplier after Ericsson and Nokia Siemens Networks, according to analysts at Société Générale.

据法国兴业银行(Societe Generale)分析师估计,在全球移动基础设施供应交易中,华为的市场份额从2007年的7.2%提高到了去年的15.5%,由此成为全球第三大供应商,仅次于爱立信和诺基亚西门子通信。

Asked if Huawei could increase its market share of fixed line and mobile infrastructure deals, Mr Xu said: “We will continue to grow sustainably and steadily.”

在被问及华为能否扩大在固网及移动基础设施交易中的市场份额时,徐文伟表示:“我们将继续以可持续、平稳的方式增长。”

Huawei’s bullish statement about 2009 is partly rooted in its success at winning large contracts to supply infrastructure for China’s mobile operators based on third generation wireless technology.

华为之所以对2009年如此乐观,部分原因是它成功获得为中国移动运营商提供第三代移动技术基础设施的大单。
